A classic BLT sandwich featuring crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, and creamy mayonnaise layered between your choice of toasted bread. Perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Bacon

  • 8-12 slices cooked bacon

Bread and Spread

  • 4 slices bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise

Vegetables

  • 4 leaves lettuce (romaine, iceberg, or your choice)
  • 4 slices ripe tomato

Seasoning

  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the vegetables. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves thoroughly. Slice the tomatoes into thick, even slices to maintain juiciness and flavor.
  2. Toast the bread and apply mayonnaise. Toast the bread slices until golden brown. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise evenly on one side of each toasted slice.
  3. Assemble the sandwich base. Place the lettuce leaves on the mayonnaise side of two bread slices, creating a fresh and crunchy foundation.
  4. Add the tomato and season. Layer the sliced tomatoes on top of the lettuce, then season with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to enhance the flavors.
  5. Top with bacon. Add 4-6 slices of the cooked bacon on top of the tomato for each sandwich, depending on your preferred bacon-to-bread ratio.
  6. Complete the sandwich. Place the remaining two slices of bread over the bacon, mayonnaise side down. Press down gently to hold all ingredients together securely.
  7. Slice and serve. Optionally, cut each sandwich in half for easier handling. Serve immediately to enjoy the perfect balance of textures and flavors.

Notes

  • Use thick-cut bacon for a meatier bite or turkey bacon for a leaner option.
  • Choose your favorite bread type to customize flavor and texture.
  • For a healthier version, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt or avocado spread.
  • To keep bread from getting soggy, pat tomato slices dry before layering.
  • Adding a little crunchy pickle on the side complements the sandwich nicely.
