Delight in these Churros Cheesecake Bars, a perfect blend of creamy cheesecake layered between golden crescent roll dough, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and baked to perfection. A sweet treat combining the flavors of classic churros with rich cheesecake, ideal for dessert or a special snack.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) Crescent Roll Dough
  • 1/4 cup Butter, unsalted, melted

Cheesecake Filling

  • 16 oz (2 packages) Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Ground Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Bottom Dough Layer: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, stretching it gently to cover the entire surface.
  3. Add Cinnamon Sugar: Mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle half of this mixture evenly over the dough layer to add a sweet spicy base.
  4. Drizzle Butter: Drizzle 2 tablespoons of the melted butter evenly over the cinnamon-sugar coated dough to enhance flavor and help browning.
  5. Make Cheesecake Filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and a small pinch of sea salt until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  6. Spread Cheesecake Layer: Evenly spread the cheesecake filling over the cinnamon-sugar bottom dough layer in the baking dish to create a rich creamy center.
  7. Add Top Dough Layer: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it gently over the cheesecake mixture. Stretch it carefully to cover the filling completely. If needed, cut strips of dough to cover any gaps.
  8. Top with Butter and Cinnamon Sugar: Brush the top dough layer with the remaining melted butter, then sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the surface for a crunchy, flavorful crust.
  9. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until the dough turns golden brown and the cheesecake filling is set.
  10. Cool and Serve: Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 30 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally drizzled with your favorite syrup.

Notes

  • For easier cutting, chill the bars briefly before slicing to help them set.
  • You can substitute crescent roll dough with puff pastry for a flakier texture.
  • Use low-fat cream cheese for a lighter version, though creaminess may be reduced.
  • Add a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce when serving for extra indulgence.
  • Ensure cream cheese is fully softened for smooth filling without lumps.
