Fiery Chicken Ramen is a comforting noodle bowl featuring spicy marinated chicken strips, creamy garlic sauce, and tender ramen noodles, topped with fresh green onions, shredded carrots, and a soft-boiled egg for a perfect balance of heat and creaminess.

Ingredients

For the Spicy Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ cups heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Ramen Bowl:

  • 2 packs ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ cup sliced green onions
  • ½ cup shredded carrots (optional, for crunch)
  • 1 soft-boiled egg, halved (for topping)
  • Sesame seeds & nori strips, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate & Cook the Spicy Chicken: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. Add the sliced chicken and toss well to coat evenly. Let it marinate for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add the chicken strips and cook for 5-6 minutes until golden and fully cooked. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth while stirring constantly. Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy, then remove from heat.
  3. Cook the Ramen Noodles: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook ramen noodles according to package instructions, typically 3-4 minutes. Drain the noodles well and toss with 1 teaspoon sesame oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  4. Assemble the Ramen Bowls: Divide the cooked ramen noodles evenly into serving bowls. Spoon the creamy garlic sauce generously over the noodles. Top each bowl with the spicy chicken strips, sliced green onions, shredded carrots, and halved soft-boiled egg. Garnish with sesame seeds and nori strips for added texture and flavor. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy the comforting heat.

Notes

  • Adjust the cayenne pepper amount to control the heat level of the chicken.
  • For a lighter sauce, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • If you prefer a vegetarian version, substitute chicken with tofu and use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.
  • Soft-boiled egg can be prepared by boiling for 6-7 minutes and then cooling in ice water.
  • Use fresh garlic for the sauce to maximize flavor.
  • Toasting sesame seeds before garnishing enhances their nutty flavor.
